Job Overview
PayPal is hiring a Software Engineer in Bangalore for a full-time engineering position. The role involves developing, testing, debugging and maintaining production software while collaborating with Product, QA, Design and engineering teams.
The position also provides exposure to AI/LLM technologies, including LLM APIs, prompt engineering, RAG, agentic workflows and AI-assisted developer tooling. Candidates will have opportunities to explore practical applications of generative AI in software engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement software development lifecycle (SDLC) tasks with guidance from experienced engineers.
- Develop, test, debug and maintain production software features and modules.
- Collaborate with Product, QA and Design teams to deliver features end-to-end.
- Participate in code and design reviews and Agile practices including sprint planning.
- Create unit and integration tests for reliable software.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve application reliability.
- Explore AI/LLM technologies and identify practical engineering use cases.
- Contribute to developer tooling and automation.

Eligibility

Experience Requirement: 1+ years of relevant experience.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Core Tech Skills: Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, OOP and software engineering fundamentals. Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language.

AI Exposure: Exposure to LLMs, generative AI or AI-assisted development is preferred. Experience or project exposure in prompt engineering, RAG or agentic workflows is beneficial.
