Job Overview
Google is hiring a Software Engineer II, AI/ML in Hyderabad to develop next-generation technologies and intelligent systems operating at Google scale. The role requires software development experience along with knowledge of Machine Learning, AI algorithms, distributed processing, and distributed systems.
The position is part of People Operations Engineering (POps Eng), where the team combines research and production-grade software engineering to build reusable AI platform tooling, workflows, and AI data solutions that support enterprise-scale experiences for Google employees.
The engineer will work on software systems addressing complex organizational problems, participate in design and code reviews, contribute to technical documentation, and troubleshoot product or system issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code for intelligent systems at scale.
- Collaborate with peers and stakeholders through rigorous design and code reviews.
- Follow engineering best practices related to style guidelines, code quality, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
- Work with available technologies to develop reliable and scalable software solutions.
- Debug, track, and resolve technical issues while triaging product or system anomalies.
- Analyze sources of system issues and their potential impact on hardware, network, or service operations.
- Contribute to existing documentation and educational content, adapting it based on product updates and user feedback.

Eligibility & Preferences

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. (Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field is highly preferred).

Experience Required: At least 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, data structures, and algorithms. Experience in Machine Learning areas (AI algorithms, platforms, Generative AI).
