Citi is hiring a Full Stack Java Developer in Chennai for its Digital Software Engineering team. The role focuses on developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining modern full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, front-end frameworks, Oracle, and cloud-native technologies.

The position also emphasizes AI-assisted development, including tools such as GitHub Copilot and emerging AI coding agents. The successful candidate will work with senior developers and technical leads in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full-stack web applications using Java and modern front-end technologies.
  • Build server-side applications and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks.
  • Develop user interfaces using Angular or React, HTML5, and CSS.
  • Apply microservices and modern application architecture principles.
  • Containerize applications using Docker and work with Kubernetes/OpenShift for orchestration.
  • Support CI/CD, build, testing, and deployment process improvements.
  • Use AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve development efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot coding, application performance, and design issues, conducting root-cause analysis.

  • Core Tech Skills: Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, Angular or React, and Oracle. Knowledge of modern application architecture, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
  • Workflow & DevOps: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools, GitHub Enterprise, Bitbucket, and practical Agile/Scrum/Kanban experience. Ability to write automated unit/integration tests.
