Job Overview
Cisco is hiring a Software Engineer in Bangalore to work with Cisco Secure Workload and the Isovalent team. The role focuses on developing UI and full-stack features related to policy, vulnerability management, and cloud-native security.
The position involves working on small-to-medium software features throughout the development lifecycle, including technical design, coding, unit testing, acceptance testing, code reviews, and production support. Candidates will work with modern frontend technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript and React or Angular, with backend development experience considered an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with engineering team members.
- Work on small-to-medium software features from technical design through completion.
- Apply software development lifecycle principles to assigned projects.
- Participate in requirements analysis, design, coding, and testing.
- Contribute to technical design and feature delivery with guidance.
- Write clean, functional code.
- Develop unit tests and end-to-end tests to ensure quality.
- Participate in code reviews and address review feedback.
- Monitor and triage incident reports and production issues.
- Participate in postmortems and potential on-call activities.
- Estimate task completion timelines and communicate project status or blockers.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree with 0 years of related experience.

Core Tech Skills: Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript. Experience with React, Angular, or a similar frontend technology. Basic knowledge of software development theories, principles, and concepts.

Preferred Experience: Backend development experience using Go, Ruby on Rails, or Node.js. Exposure to current technologies through coursework or internship.
