Amazon is hiring a Business Analyst I for its Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) organization in Bengaluru. The role is part of the Worldwide Ergonomics and Safety Experience (WESE) team's Insight and Analysis function, which provides analytical and operational insights to support safety programs and business decisions.
The Business Analyst will use data, SQL, spreadsheets, automation and AI tools to solve business problems, identify trends and root causes, improve reporting visibility and develop scalable solutions. The role also involves partnering with program managers, stakeholders and technology teams to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop analytics solutions to solve business problems by extracting and transforming data using spreadsheets, SQL and relevant tools.
- Perform descriptive analysis to understand business impact and identify drivers, trends and anomalies in business data.
- Generate insights to support team and stakeholder decisions while identifying new opportunities through data analysis.
- Document metric definitions, analytical logic, assumptions and data sources.
- Partner with technology teams to improve portals, dashboards and online tools, and validate business and technical logic.
- Communicate analytical findings through written and verbal channels.
- Learn and apply AI best practices to improve team efficiency and build mechanisms that reduce manual effort.
- Partner with program managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical and technical solutions.
- Analyze data to identify root causes and provide actionable recommendations.

Eligibility & Preferences

Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Engineering, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.

Experience Required: 1+ year of experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field. Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to generate business insights.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with very large datasets, knowledge of NLP and text processing. Online portfolio demonstrating relevant analytical or technical work is a plus.
