Alstom is hiring a Cost Manager – Services in Bangalore. The role focuses on managing costing and pricing activities for services tenders, including cost estimation, cost structure definition, target costing, tender validation, and cost optimization.
The position is suited to candidates with a background in engineering, business, costing, pricing, or bid management, particularly those with experience in railway, manufacturing, energy, or oil and gas environments. The role involves close collaboration with Bid Managers, Tender Leaders, Finance Tender Managers, Technical Teams, and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost estimation activities for services tenders.
- Prepare quick cost estimates during the pre-tendering phase.
- Use product cost databases and project execution insights to develop estimates.
- Define cost structures and target costs according to sales requirements and RFP terms.
- Drive cost improvement actions to achieve target costs.
- Collaborate with Finance Tender Managers to optimize financial costs.
- Support the development of competitive tender proposals.
- Conduct detailed costing analysis and validation to ensure robustness.
- Support project teams with costing for variation orders.
- Provide costing support during design-phase activities.
- Identify opportunities for value analysis and cost reduction.
- Contribute to financial and operational objectives throughout tender and project milestones.

Qualification: Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.

Experience Requirement: Relevant experience in costing, pricing, or bid management is highly preferred.

Core Skills: Strong understanding of cost structure development, target costing, financial rules, and cost validation.

Preferred Experience: Experience in the railway, manufacturing, energy, or oil and gas sectors. Certified Cost Professional (CCP) certification is desirable.
