Job Overview
Barclays is hiring Data Scientists for its Controls Analytics and Insight team in Pune, India.
This role is focused on leveraging data analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven insights to strengthen internal control frameworks, improve risk mitigation, and support the Chief Controls Office (CCO) function.
Roles & Responsibilities

Perform rigorous quantitative and data-driven analysis to generate actionable business insights and support critical decision-making.

Work seamlessly with large and complex datasets utilizing Python and SQL for extraction, cleaning, and advanced modeling.

Develop intuitive reports and interactive dashboards dedicated to risk assessment and continuous control monitoring.

Proactively identify weaknesses and gaps within internal controls, supporting risk mitigation and continuous operational improvement initiatives.

Collaborate intimately with stakeholders across business and analytics teams to assist in control assessments, policy adherence reviews, and utilizing emerging AI tools.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in STEM disciplines preferred. Recognized certifications in Data Science, AI, Analytics, or related areas are a plus.
Experience
Experience in quantitative analysis and data interpretation. Exposure to Python, SQL, and analytics projects. Ability to work with structured and unstructured data.
Strong expertise in Python, SQL, Data Analysis, and Data Visualization. Knowledge of Machine Learning Basics and AI Tools. Familiarity with internal control frameworks and risk assessment is preferred.
