Job Overview
Barclays is hiring Data Scientists for its Controls Analytics and Insight team in Pune, India.
The role focuses on leveraging data analytics, machine learning, and AI technologies to generate business insights, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making within the bank’s Chief Controls Office function. You will contribute to risk and controls analytics initiatives while supporting business transformation.
Roles & Responsibilities

Collect, extract, and analyze data from internal and external sources, performing rigorous data cleaning and transformation.

Build statistical and machine learning models to derive impactful business insights, identifying risks and strategic opportunities.

Develop and maintain automated data pipelines, supporting operational efficiency through data-driven solutions.

Work with stakeholders to identify value-driven analytics opportunities, translating analytical results into meaningful business recommendations.

Utilize emerging AI and Data Science technologies for innovation, actively collaborating with cross-functional teams on analytics initiatives.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
Degree or professional certification in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
Experience
Experience in quantitative analysis, data-driven problem-solving, and handling large/complex datasets. ML/Analytics experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of Python, SQL, Machine Learning, and Predictive Analytics. Expertise in building statistical models, automated data pipelines, and data visualization. Familiarity with AI tools and large complex datasets in the banking sector is preferred.
