Job Overview
Morgan Stanley is hiring an Associate Software Engineer (Java Developer) for its Non-Financial Risk Technology team in Mumbai, India.
This role focuses on building and maintaining scalable software solutions that support regulatory and risk management systems, including KYC, AML, and customer risk analysis. As part of the CDRR Technology team, you will design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade applications using modern technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance Java-based applications that process large volumes of financial and customer data.

Build scalable backend systems using Spring Boot and microservices to support customer risk and compliance workflows.

Implement and maintain RESTful services using JSON, SOAP, and XML while working alongside global teams.

Participate actively in Agile development processes (Scrum, CI/CD, TDD), contributing to end-to-end software development.

Improve system architecture and infrastructure, developing and reviewing detailed architecture design documents to ensure reliability.
Eligibility Criteria
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
Experience
3–5 years of hands-on experience in Java development and working with enterprise-level applications.
Technical & Core Competence
Deep expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices. Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka, IBM MQ, SQL, DB2, and Linux/Shell scripting. Familiarity with DevOps tools, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies. Experience in the financial domain (KYC/AML) is preferred.
