Key Responsibilities
As a Business Analyst at Amazon, you will help drive business decisions by analyzing operational data, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing analytical solutions.
Deep-Dive Data Analytics
- Independently scope, design, and execute complex analyses involving inventory placement and network flow.
- Analyze regional demand patterns, fill rates, and outbound shipping cost drivers.
- Transform raw data into clear, actionable business insights.
- Quantify the potential business impact of identified issues and opportunities.
Dashboard Development and Reporting
- Build, automate, and maintain self-service dashboards using QuickSight, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Provide stakeholders with visibility into inventory placement, inventory health, and network performance.
- Develop reporting solutions that support operational monitoring and business decisions.
SQL and Data Engineering
- Write efficient, production-grade SQL queries for large datasets.
- Work with data platforms and technologies such as Redshift, Hive, and Athena.
- Build and maintain ETL pipelines, data marts, and reusable datasets.
Business Improvement & Automation
- Proactively identify gaps, anomalies, and improvement opportunities in inventory placement.
- Partner with Program Managers and Category teams to evaluate business opportunities.
- Own the definition, tracking, and reporting of team-level metrics including WBRs and MBRs.
- Use SQL, Python, or scripting to streamline analytical processes and automate workflows.
- Present analytical findings to senior leadership through concise, data-backed narratives.
