Key Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer on Microsoft's Windows + Devices Fundamentals team, you will contribute to software systems that measure and improve the health of Windows devices.
- Backend Development: Develop, test, and maintain components of backend services that support Windows device health and engineering workflows.
- Data Pipeline Development: Contribute to telemetry ingestion, transformation, orchestration, storage, monitoring, and diagnostic systems.
- Telemetry Analysis: Analyze telemetry, diagnostic signals, and traces to identify trends, anomalies, regressions, and potential customer impact.
- Windows Fundamentals Metrics: Contribute to metrics, queries, cohort definitions, and measurement workflows covering reliability, performance, responsiveness, and power.
- Debugging and Troubleshooting: Investigate data and service issues using debugging, statistical, and performance-analysis tools.
- Engineering Quality: Follow sound engineering practices for reliability, security, compliance, observability, data quality, and safe deployment.
- Automation: Build automation, dashboards, alerts, and diagnostic workflows to identify issues earlier and reduce manual engineering effort.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with team members and partner teams to deliver engineering improvements and participate in code reviews.
