Job Overview
Barclays is hiring a Full Stack Engineer in Pune within its Global Payment Services business area. The role focuses on modernizing core technology platforms and developing scalable, secure, and efficient software solutions that support business requirements and digital financial services.
The engineer will work with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, SQL and NoSQL databases, DevSecOps tools, and AI-assisted development technologies. The position also involves code reviews, unit testing, secure coding, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve software applications using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
- Build scalable, maintainable, and performance-optimized software solutions.
- Develop backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, JPA, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle and MongoDB.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define software requirements.
- Ensure seamless integration across software components and systems.
- Participate in code reviews and promote code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Implement effective unit testing practices and follow secure coding practices to protect sensitive data.
- Use DevSecOps tools and practices to support software delivery and security.
- Work with message queues such as Apache Kafka and IBM MQ.
- Apply AI-assisted development tools to improve development productivity.
- Identify risks and support effective risk management and governance.
