Job Overview

Google is hiring a Software Engineer II, Front End, Google Cloud in Pune. The role involves developing user-facing software and security products used by Google Cloud customers, with a strong focus on front-end and user interface development.

The position is suitable for software engineers with experience in JavaScript, Angular, GraphQL, data structures, and algorithms. Engineers will work on complex products, collaborate with product managers, program managers, UX teams, and engineering teams across global locations, and contribute to Google's large-scale cloud technology ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write robust product or system development code.
  • Develop front-end and user interface functionality for Google Cloud Platform.
  • Build and optimize security products used by Google Cloud users.
  • Design and implement complex products involving both front-end and back-end components.
  • Participate in code reviews developed by other engineers.
  • Provide insightful feedback on coding standards and engineering best practices.
  • Ensure code quality, accuracy, testability, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate tightly with Product Management, Program Management, UX, and engineering teams.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams distributed across different global locations.
  • Contribute to highly visible products within the Google Cloud ecosystem.

Eligibility

  • Experience Requirement: 1+ year of experience with data structures and algorithms, and 1+ year in front-end/UI development.

  • Core Tech Skills: Proven experience working with JavaScript, Angular, and GraphQL. Understanding of the connection between front-end and back-end systems.
  • Professional Skills: Strong problem-solving ability. Capability to thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment and collaborate with globally distributed cross-functional teams.
  • Preferred Expertise: 2+ years of programming experience using JavaScript alongside Java or Python. Experience in developing accessible technologies.
