Job Overview
Microsoft is hiring for its Azure Data Engineering organization in Bengaluru. The role is part of the Data Engineering One Infra team, which builds and maintains infrastructure powering Microsoft Fabric Spark, Azure Synapse Spark and Cosmos Analytics at massive scale.
The position provides an opportunity to develop software, debug and test systems, participate in code reviews, work with AI-assisted development tools and contribute to security, deployment and production support activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and develop extensible, maintainable software using coding best practices.
- Assist with debugging and testing software systems.
- Identify issues using logs, telemetry and automated code-analysis tools.
- Support development and testing of design options.
- Understand system dependencies, scalability, performance and security fundamentals.
- Participate in code reviews and learn Microsoft coding standards.
- Review AI-generated code changes responsibly.
- Support security testing, monitoring and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with partner teams on feature integration and end-to-end testing.
- Support smooth software deployment and escalate issues when required.
- Participate in on-call activities to resolve service degradation, downtime and interruptions.

Eligibility

Qualification Requirement: Associate’s Degree or Apprenticeship in Computer Science or related technical discipline. Bachelor’s Degree in CS/related field is highly preferred.

Experience Requirement: 6+ months of work or internship experience coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript or Python. (Equivalent experience may also be considered).

Core Tech Skills: Proven coding experience in object-oriented and script-based languages. Understanding of distributed systems, telemetry, logging, and software testing.

Compliance & Operations: Ability to meet Microsoft's required security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check. Willingness to participate in on-call operational support.
