Job Overview
S&P Global is hiring for a Lead Data Analyst role in its Data Management team in Hyderabad. The role involves supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of financial data, including sourcing, extraction, validation, enrichment and delivery while following established SOPs and quality standards.
The position focuses on Compustat Fundamentals datasets, requiring candidates to work with regulatory filings, earnings reports and vendor feeds. The role also involves financial data research, reconciliation, documentation, process improvement and adoption of technology and AI-enabled workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, extract and perform basic cleansing of financial data.
- Work with Compustat Fundamentals datasets from structured and unstructured sources.
- Follow SOPs for data sourcing, tagging and loading.
- Perform first-level validation, duplicate checks and reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and data traceability.
- Identify and escalate data anomalies with supporting evidence.
- Suggest incremental process improvements to enhance data quality.
- Coordinate with team members to resolve day-to-day data issues.
- Provide updates on production volumes, issues and delays.
- Participate in team stand-ups, huddles and calibration sessions.

Eligibility

Experience Required: 0–3 years in financial data operations, research, or related analytical roles. Interns and fresh graduates are eligible to apply.

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.

Core Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Cash Flow statements. Familiarity with global financial markets and public-company reporting requirements.

Technical Proficiency: High proficiency in MS Excel. Experience or knowledge of SQL for querying, filtering, and reconciling financial data. Python basics and advanced Excel/macros are preferred.

Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and proactively resolve day-to-day data issues.
