Job Overview

JioStar is hiring a Software Development Engineer I for its Viewer Experience (VX) team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on building high-quality distributed applications and user-facing experiences for the JioHotstar website and TV applications.

The position involves developing scalable front-end features, working with UI/UX teams, building reusable components and libraries, and maintaining high standards for performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver end-to-end user-facing features for JioHotstar platforms.
  • Build high-performance and accessible front-end experiences.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility across applications and devices.
  • Collaborate with product stakeholders to deliver new website and TV app features.
  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs alongside design teams.
  • Build reusable code, UI components, and cross-functional libraries.
  • Contribute to JioStar's in-house design system.
  • Create technical documentation, DFDs, and clear code comments.
  • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to software development best practices.
  • Actively participate in peer code reviews to maintain code quality.

Eligibility

  • Experience Requirement: 0–2 years of professional experience as a Front-End Developer.

  • Core Tech Skills: Hands-on experience with JavaScript. Knowledge of modern front-end frameworks such as React or AngularJS.
  • Architecture & Browser: Strong understanding of how browsers work, along with knowledge of software design and architecture patterns.
  • Tools & Best Practices: Proficiency with Git. Familiarity with front-end build tools such as Grunt or Gulp. Open-source contributions are good to have.
